ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Crossroads K-9s for Cops program was started with the intent to equip Wisconsin police departments with one of the most vital resources that can be found in a department's tool box.
Crossroads K-9s for Cops was formed in memory of fallen Everest Metro Police Detective, Jason Weiland.
A police K-9 personifies Jason’s philosophy of proactive policing and fierce dedication to those he served with.
This program is a tribute to his life, service to his community, and passion for law enforcement.
The addition of a K-9 directly benefits our communities by deterring crime, locating missing persons, and apprehending violent suspects with less than lethal force.
This year’s goal is to provide a complete K-9 package to this community-focused department, at little, to no cost to the department or tax payer.
Together, we can assist Wisconsin police departments with the acquisition of one of the most vital resources available to law enforcement and our communities.
MISSION STATEMENT
To honor Detective Jason Weiland's life and service to his community by providing Wisconsin Police Departments a force multiplier in the form of a complete K-9 package, at little or no cost to the department or tax payer.

IMPORTANCE OF K-9s IN OUR COMMUNITIES
A K-9 is a force multiplier of epic proportions for a department. The dog can locate narcotics that are hidden, track missing people, and apprehend suspects using less than lethal force.
Additionally, dogs can see and hear better than humans at night, which increases the odds of locating criminals. They can be trained to locate human remains, explosives, or a myriad of other items needed by the department.
The dog doesn’t draw a salary or have the additional expenses that an officer draws from the department. K-9s have made narcotics discoveries valued in the hundreds of thousands that may otherwise be on our streets killing people and destroying lives.
K-9 units dramatically increase the likelihood of successfully locating missing persons that may not have been found by humans until it was too late.
In our opinion, if the K-9 saved just one life during its career, the investment into the program is well worth it. The advantages of adding a K-9 program to a police department and our communities are immeasurable.
GET INVOLVED
Donations, sponsorships, fundraising, and volunteering are all ways to contribute to the program. A K-9 brings a new level of safety and security for everyone in our communities, so let’s join together to get these valuable members of the police force in the department’s hands!
